Several factors come into account while making a static web-banner.

• It should be creative and grab attention.

• It shouldn’t be stuffed with information.

• Before making a banner the web environment where it has to be displayed must be taken into account. (a) Web banner shouldn’t merge with the background. (b)Message shouldn’t be in conflict with the nature of the website.

• Preferably there should be an action button like Go, Click etc. It increases the click rate by around 80%.

• Message should be neither too twisted nor plain announcement. People are here not for your banner. Too simple banner may not grab their attention while too flashy banner may repel them.
